Pastis

I haven't been to Pastis in about a year and went there on Sat night. We arrived for our 9pm reservations promptly and guess what.... we were seated right away! I was shocked since normally I've waited at the bar for a while before being seated even if I am on time for my reservations.. which is rarely... ha! The waiter was very attentive and the food was ok. Not as good as I remembered it but it was ok. I had the pan roasted cod because I wanted to be "healthy" and oysters to start with. The cod was cooked well and texture was good but didn't have much flavor, it was a very boring dish. Out of a 1 - 10, 10 being the best, I would rate Pastis overall a 6.5. Now on to shopping.... Some of the things I've brought recently to keep warm from this cold fall... (just an excuse of course...)

A Voce and Adrienne's Pizza Bar

Last week went out with the girls to celebrate a friend's engagement at A Voce. I had high expectations for the restaurant since I have heard so much about it and boy was it awesome! The spaghetti with ramps were my favorite! The gnocchi was melt in your mouth goodness! Since my friend's roommate is a pastry cook at the restaurant we had a feast of awesome desserts on the house! Now I normally don't like chocolate ice cream but the chocolate ice cream was the best! The tiramisu was also delicious. I plan on def going back when the outdoor space opens I think in mid-May.
Over the weekend I got to try Adrienne's Pizza Bar down on Stone Street. I am never normally in the area but since I had a car I decided to make the trek, that and we also were going to drop some friends off in battery park but they ended up coming to eat with us.
The pizza was ok...we had the toscana pizza which had potato, procuitto, scallion and the old fashioned pizza(square pizza) with eggplant and mushrooms which was the better of the two. The toscana I didn't like so much, not enough cheese, the eggplant and mushroom was a tiny bit salty even though I love salt.
I would go back only if I was in the area again, which isn't very likely. I still want to give Luzzo's another try.

Sandwiches

So I love pret-a-manger, even though the sandwiches are premade the baguette is so fresh! My favorite sandwich from there is the roast beef on the baguette.
Starwich also has amazing sandwiches that are served warm, I like to create my own sandwiches.
Lenny's has a great pastrami sandwich!
Sarges has an even better pastrami sandwich. I think it's much better than katz's deli.
I love all kinds of sandwiches... mmmm... getting hungry again even though I just had lunch which consisted of an everything bagel with herbed cream cheese from ess-a-bagel. I thought the bagel was only ok b/c the seeds are only on one side of the bagel not on both sides and I like to dissect when I eat. The herbed cream cheese was very good, tasted very much like the alouette spread which I love!

So I've just brought this BR sweater in both taupe and black. I think it'll be perfect for spring/summer!

I always read about all these great places that I want to try, yet when I'm ready to eat I can never decide where I want to go, and when I get to a restaurant I always say oh we should eat at this other place or I want to try this other place, etc.... I've been to some of the places listed above yet still want to go back since it was soo good! Besides food, there are def some clothing/shoes items that I want to get for the summer although I've already shopped way to much!
